The App Preview Messaging feature of Google Play service is now added to Google Duo, the video calling app of Google that will now allow Android users to receive calls from Google Duo even if they have not installed the app on their phone.
Google Duo app has been updated very recently with new features while the support for App Preview Messaging is one of them.
App Preview Messaging was launched back in 2016 that allowed users receiving messages from some apps even though that was not installed on their phone. Google Allo is an app that received this feature back in 2016 only and now it’s time for another Google app Google Duo.
Here is how it will work on Google Duo
Users without the Google Duo app will receive the call like regular call and will have support for the knock knock feature that is the incoming call display the view of the caller’s camera. The receiver can receive the call by dragging it, they can mute the mic, change the camera and hang up the call also, whatever they want.
Once the call is finished, the receiver will be prompted to install the Duo app. However, they can always deny it by tapping on the ‘No Thanks’ button. Another option is also included there which says ‘Block’. Blocking feature will allow you to block the caller in case you are not interested to receive the call anymore.
However, this updated feature of Google Duo is not available to everyone as of now rather some few developers will have access to it and later on all the users will be able to enjoy the new feature on Google Duo.
This video calling app received another also update very recently which is the rearrangement of the contact list.
