An indispensable feature for our Bluetooth devices. The credentials of the users can be exposed due to the Bluetooth flaw. This does not cause much trouble in using the keyboard or mouse. But when it comes to our laptops or phones, the issue comes with data security.
In this case, it is not a good habit to leave Bluetooth on all the time. Due to the last reported security vulnerability, an attacker near you can access your device by imitating the address of a device previously paired with your device (BIAS).
Bluetooth Flaw Can Cause Your Device Get Attacked
The focus of the attack is the Bluetooth Classic protocol with Basic Rate and Enhanced Data Rate (BR / EDR) modes.
The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), which oversees Bluetooth protocols, says it will update the Bluetooth Core Specification, which includes tightening mutual authentication rules and security protocols.
To protect against such attacks, they turn off the Bluetooth connection when they are not using it. Users are advised to follow their firmware and install the published updates immediately.
